For Peer Reviewers - Background

We value the input of our reviewers. Reviewers of the CARI guidelines have been chosen for their expertise, either on content and/or methodology.

The CARI guidelines aim to provide a summary of the available evidence and make formal recommendations only when there is good supportive evidence. This means evidence from a systematic review of all relevant randomised controlled trials or evidence from at least one properly designed randomised controlled trial.

A checklist designed to match the content of a CARI guideline is provided to reviewers. The model CARI Guideline document helps to explain the different sections of a guideline and the sort of content that should appear in a section. The aim of a review is to provide feedback to the Working Party that will ultimately result in better health care and health outcomes for Australians with kidney disease.

Our information is continually updated, so please feel free to send us your c omments and suggestions about our checklist and process.
